The team behind Big Licence
Big Licence is an independent English-language guide to casino licences for UK readers. It covers which regulator issues a licence, what the licence asks of a casino, what it does and does not mean for a player, how to check it in the regulator's own register and which casinos hold it. Every page is written by the Big Licence team, which reads each regulator's own pages, rules and public register, tests casinos and checks every fact.
The site is not a casino or a regulator. It takes no bets and holds no money. It has no connection with the UK Gambling Commission, the Malta Gaming Authority, the Curacao Gaming Authority, Anjouan Gaming, the Gibraltar Gambling Division or any casino. Regulator logos appear for reference only, as each regulator's own public website serves them, and they do not mean an endorsement or a partnership.
The pages give no legal advice and no advice to gamble, and no guarantee that a licensed casino will pay. No page describes a way around the UK self-exclusion scheme. The legal entity behind the site is not decided yet.
How the team checks a page
For each licence regime the team copies the exact words it relies on into a research file. The steps are set out in how we check.
A casino is listed only when its own terms name the company that runs it and a licence entry in the regulator's register matches that company or licence number. No page states a payout or a timing that a named source does not give.
If you think we are wrong
If a regulator has changed a rule, or a fact on this site is wrong, write to info@biglicence.co.uk. Name the page and the sentence you mean.
